Alexandre Ottoveggio is a French-Italian filmmaker, actor, screenwriter, author, cinematographer, and composer. For most of his life, storytelling has been at the center of everything he does, whether through film, books, or music.
Alexandre began his career as an actor and soon found himself exploring many different sides of the film industry. Over the years, he worked in front of the camera and behind it, gaining experience in acting, casting, special effects, cinematography, writing, and directing. This hands-on journey gave him a deep understanding of filmmaking and helped shape his own creative voice.
As an actor, he portrayed legendary French boxing champion Marcel Cerdan in Larbi, or the Destiny of a Great Footballer and appeared in productions including Road to Kabul. He also worked as a stunt performer on major films such as Inception, Contagion, Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation, and Salmon Fishing in the Yemen.
His experience in the industry goes far beyond acting. Alexandre worked as a casting director on Furia, directed by Alexandre Aja. He also worked on the television series Shaka Zulu, starring Oliver Reed and Grace Jones, and was part of the special effects team on Ridley Scott's Black Hawk Down.
Wanting to tell stories of his own, he eventually moved into writing and directing. His films include Another Day on Earth, Alien Activity, Paradise River, Until Dawn, Fury Man, Breaking Souls, and Last Mile to Paradise. His work often focuses on ordinary people facing extraordinary situations, with stories about hope, survival, redemption, and the strength of the human spirit.
Outside of filmmaking, Alexandre is also a published author. He has written ten novels, including Perils of Liberty, Fugitive at the Crossroad, and River of Tears. Writing allows him to explore stories and characters in a different way and has become an important part of his creative life.
Music is another passion. Under the artist name Alex Di Martini, he composes cinematic music and plays several instruments. He has written, performed, and produced his own albums, creating music inspired by film, emotion, and imagination. For him, music is simply another way of telling stories.
Throughout his career, Alexandre's work has received awards and nominations at international film festivals. Today, he continues to write, direct, compose, and create new projects, always driven by a love of storytelling and a desire to connect with audiences around the world.
